I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with ACACA Studio in a opening titles. The project was for the soap opera Bom Sucesso from TV Globo, Brazil's largest open channel television network.

MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT
Bom Sucesso tells the story of Paloma, a seamstress who discovers her love for books and begins to relate her life to famous novels and tales by great writers.
The opening titles blend 2D animation and 3D texturing techniques to simulate a long flap of cloth and seams. The main idea was to emphasize the lines of the illustration in the 3D environment to create a sense of relief between the layers. After the 2D animation was completed, a standard color video was exported (for each scene), and then black and white videos were used as masks and displacement maps for each line that needed to be extruded.
