Metal Armorial
Metal Armorial is an award-winning animated music video that merges elements of comics, Westerns and woodcuts to tell the story of a young cowboy. The film is set in an arid region, full of challenges that could be located in the American Southwest, in the Australian Outback or the Brazilian Cariri.
Synopsis: A young adventurer wanders with his mule over the dry and mysterious land of Cariri paraibano looking for his wife. On a treacherous and dangerous path, he gets lost when encounters a fork in the road. He must choose between the alluring mermaid song and the road that will lead him back to his rough farming life with his wife.

MORE ABOUT
This project was my first big gig as a freelancer and took one year and seven months to complete. Working together with Minna Miná, we did every step, from the script to the credits and delivered to Pedro Jácome, our musician client responsible for the executive production and for the audio.
I used this project to learn during the process and to try some techniques to get familiar with animation. I did a lot of mixing between Photoshop and After Effects. Each tiny piece of this design has texture animated with brushes in Photoshop and just this process alone took me three looong months to get every texture moving around.
